• Please blur/hide any major events in the current week’s pages (however early they occur), like so:

 • (that’s
text here
).

 • If you have a question about grammar, vocab, the story, cultural things or literally anything else related to the book — ask! There is really no need to be hesitant. If it’s something you are wondering about, chances are someone else will be thankful you asked first, lots of people enjoy answering questions, you learn something new, and the thread gets more lively. It’s a win-win on all fronts!

 • Don’t forget to put on your club-supplied cat ears for a more immersive experience while reading. You will find them under your seat.

Ok that wasn’t really the resolution I was expecting :joy:

So she became overly reliant on the calculation demon, which caused her to… misread にげろ as an equation, thus putting her face to face with a wild boar  I was expecting more like, she became overly reliant on the calculation demon but then is put in a situation where she doesn’t have it and is asked to do math, thus revealing she has no math skills. :person_shrugging: Also, we didn’t see whether she returned the calculation demon to the museum or not?

I was very …あれ? about the resolution. Like, I see why they wanted to get the 1= 1+ 3 joke in there, but why the boar? Was she misreading other words or just that one? It felt very out of left field …

Oh that’s a good point… I kinda assumed that they took it back, but it doesn’t actually say in the story.

At least she did eventually return the DVD :joy:

Done with the chapter and that was also not the resolution I was expecting.

I’m glad I am not the only one who was confused about why the boar :joy:

I was expecting more of kid’s horror ending where she gets turned into an equation or something in the end.

ALSO

I went back and looked at the picture of 1= 1+ 3 in the book and they drew the ten ten on げ in a completely different, barely visible way from the rest of the"letters". I know Yakata-san comments that they’re supposed to be hard to see, but it seems really misleading. I would not have been able to figure out the joke if it hadn’t been explained at the end.

I enjoyed the rest of the chapter but I feel cheated by the ending. :joy:
