I read along with the audiobook for parts of this week’s reading and Mia’s …へ？in chapter 40 after Raffina’s misunderstanding (after the line「「つまり、悪いことをするのは、それが悪いことだと知らないからだ、ということかしら？」) was really cute.
The 番外編 made me a bit emotional. I think OG timeline Anne would be really proud of Mia if she could see her now. That thought actually made look up spoilers for what happened to the original timeline/why Mia was reincarnated. Didn’t really find an answer but from the general spoilers I read I don’t think I’m interested enough to continue past the first volume. I wish the series was a trilogy instead but honestly I’m biased because I don’t like how long LN series tend to be.
Also Mia wanting to learn to ride a horse was relatable. Not because I need to escape from a rebel army ofc but I just think it would be fun to travel in nature with a horse instead of walking. There’s a place near my city that offers trail walks with horses for beginners that I’ve been wanting to try (but too nervous to actually do )
I’m still on the camp of reading further than the anime ends, we will see how I take those in. If they are doable I’ll do them, even if on my own (maybe an informal club if someone else wants to join?).
This week's reading/Thoughts
I’ve read a bit further out, as I didn’t have the exact stop point while reading (I was on an airplane with the book/audiobook loaded on my laptop), so I did by mistake 2 chapters extra. I’ll avoid commenting on those until next week, and I might need to revisit them quickly to remember.
Again there were some weird differences with the chapter closure of the Dance party. The timeline/story didn’t match Junior/Audiobook 1:1. I think this is because some parts that were missed in the Junior previously were added now.
The extra episode makes me wonder if Mia will actually confide in Anne in a deep way and explain what she’s living through / she lived through. Might be interesting to see how that goes if it happens.
Wanna do the same thing as @Naphthalene did for HameFura? At the end of the formal club, set up an informal thread for vol 2+ to naturally migrate there afterwards and skip the whole “how many threads we need and how big is our interest” part
…yeah, pretty much. I don’t care much for those. It was decently cute and it looks like they got closer, but since it’s a filler… they didn’t actually, as far as the main story is concerned.
Ah well, at least it was short-ish.

…and I think I’m actually going to stop reading here. Maybe I’ll start this again in a few years when it’s actually easy for me, but at the moment my interest/difficulty ratio is far too low. There are a few chapters where I’m really interested and want to read on, but lately with most of them that’s definitely not the case and I find myself thinking that I’d rather read something else. I think my main problem is that it’s all just a bit too aimless and slice of life-ish.

I’m a bit scared of how the skill is going to play for me, after the current arc that was featured in the anime. Listening wise I think I’ll be fine, so as long as I’m reading along the audiobook…
I wish I could re-allot my skill points as if it were a RPG and tone down Listening and Speaking a bit to bump Reading. Is just the skill I’m most interested in the one that stays behind

The kidnapping is mentioned in the first pages of the diary
When she was writing about it she didn’t know what’s what
And now she realizes (from Anna’s story) what happened behind the curtains
But that’s indeed weird. From the way the diary works, she should’ve had tomorrow’s entry with “omg Anna said that this is what happened!!”.
The author might be trying to say that future!Mia mentioned it in an unclear way because she, herself, didn’t know what’s going on. But… That future!Anna would’ve told her same as she did now…
It’s weird to see 番外編 in the middle of a a volume and not in the end, but it’s a nice chapter.
Horses are useful and dresses are not, that’s true. Selling her dresses is most likely a huge problem too (size, etc, doesn’t look like noble ladies can wear someone else’s re-sold dress in the same way it’s bad to wear the same dress twice).
