Spoilers should always be hidden using spoiler blur.
When discussing a specific section, please mention where you are in the book, ideally by chapter so people reading different versions have a clear point of reference.
Feel free to read ahead if it’s exciting, but please refrain from spoiling ahead of the appropriate week.
If you have a question about grammar, vocab, cultural things, etc - ask! That’s a welcome part of the discussion too, and other readers will be happy to help.
There was a nice break about 2 or 3 pages before the end of this week’s part… Smack in the middle of an interesting conversation! I (somehow) managed to stop reading, but no promises I won’t read on before the week is over…
That aside, it feels like things are moving more quickly now that Kaito is up and about. Not that I was worried about the pace before, haha. The weekly portions are too small!
If there’s interest, I can definitely rework the schedule to speed things up a bit. I don’t think any of the remaining readers necessarily need to be limited to 20 pgs/week at this point.
While I voted yes, please take it with a grain of salt. Unless everyone prefers to speed up I’d say stick to the schedule to keep it accessible for every reader. It’s always possible to read faster and withhold commenting until the appropriate week after all.
I guess I am the only one here who is regularly happy to be able to finish a part just on time and stay up to date…on the last day of the week I am a slow reader in every language and this book is definitely above my japanese level, which doesn’t make it faster
So I guess if you want to go faster, I probably won’t be able to keep up. BUT it would be no problem for me anyway. That’s why I won’t vote in the poll, but I guess I still wanted to give my position on it. I will continue reading and read what you all wrote after finishing a weekly part. As you may have seen (or rather not) I am no big commenter on the story anyway And reading what you all wrote/commented about the story (and by this confirm whether I understood the important parts correctly ) is possible either way.
And even if I feel like commenting on something, I know that I can do this even after you all moved to the next part/week already.
Oh, good to know! Thank you for letting me know! (See, lurkers: if you don’t comment I won’t know.) We’ll keep it as-is, then; I want everyone participating to be at at least a minimum level of comfort!
My preference is to go at the pace stated at the beginning then. I don’t want to leave anyone behind regardless of commenting frequency. Even if you’re a lurker, it’s still nice to see all the people marking “Yes” in the participation polls each week.
Slightly fell behind again but I’m back this week. Seems like Kaito has finally arrived at the scene of the action and we are now truly getting into meat of the story after all the set up. I felt a bit bad for Kaito when he was feeling lonely and in despair. I probably would too if I were him.
Ah, thank you! I’ll go add that… Glad to see the tags can come in handy, haha.
Definitely agreed. These kinds of things are fun to read about, but I would never in a million years sign up for something like this. (Granted, I guess Kaito didn’t either…)
