Looking on advice on how you decide to continue the series vs staying at first volumes only in the book clubs
I usually wait until I’m done (although we’re getting close enough that you could probably make the decision now), and then decide if I want to keep going with the story, even at my own pace. Although we’ve had a few spin off clubs from the series where people have decided to read the next book(s) in the series together.
fwiw, I’ll probably eventually come back to this series, but I have way too much in my planned reads rn so I’m going to pass on the sale this time.
I personally stick to the first volume for most of the book club series I read, tbh. With books, if I want to continue them, I always feel that I need a break in between the different volumes because they are just… dense. Honestly, I rarely have it in a book club that I loved the book so much that I can’t keep it down and need to read the next one asap (I do enjoy most books I read - just not to that extent, I guess). Plus, there are always other books I want to try, and I know it’s just not possible to keep up with everything.
If I really do want to eventually continue with the series, then I know that I’ll feel the same way in a few months time, and I can always buy the book then. I prefer to keep the decision more ‘rational’ rather then impulsively going for it when there are discounts (and, anyway, these discounts often come back in the future!).
My exception is manga, because these are usually relatively fast to read. So if I’m really enjoying them, I’ll continue the series by myself. But I’d say for most cases I usually don’t.
Thanks for the reminder that it’s not the last sale in my life. I got very… Invested into this one.
And… yeah… that…
PSA, the series is on sale at both Amazon and Bookwalker, and right now is a part of the Bookwalker stamp rally, so 50% coin back. In case you need later volumes for a future offshoot club ![]()
