I managed 34 minutes of 요모조모 today! I couldn’t finish the episode, but I cleared the 30min bar, so good enough

Figured I’d write these at the point I hit my daily goal, just to break up the day. So I’m current at 3:01.
Started with 安達としまむら. Because I watched a few episodes late last night, I genuinely do not remember where I started today, but I finished at Episode 7. I love the books, and the art, and I adore the voice acting (Its so good!) but watching awkward exchanges gives me like, physical pain, so I can only do a few episodes at a time. Reading them is fine though? Perhaps I’ll reread the books next month.
Started with 明日ちゃんのセーラー服 | Lv. 20 up to the end of Episode 5 right now. Its cute, though it did weirdly have a foot fetish episode? I’m finding it a bit hard to follow. Not because of rhe language, but because it introduced so many characters so fast, I find myself tabbing out to reference its wiki on what the character’s names are. I kind of have the appearance->storyline sorted in my head, but it took like 2 full episodes and an english article to remember 谷川’s name.
My goal for this month is to clear put everything remotely interesting Lv 23 and below. Next month I’ll set it to 25 or 26 and repeat.

I finished the 요모조모 episode, and watched another episode of Move to Heaven - for a total of 55 minutes.
This time I made more of a conscious effort to understand without relying so much on Language Reactor while watching Move to Heaven, and I looked up a lot less full sentence translations than for other episodes. Of course the main character speaks so fast that most of his lines I always have to look up, but other than that… A good listening session!

Didn’t get much listening done today. Tried to re-listen to the first short chapter of 本を守ろうとする猫の話 and couldn’t seem to keep up with it at all, so switched to レンタルロボット. I’ve listened to it before but never read along or actually read the book yet so since it should be easier to follow, did the first chapter of that for 17m. I’ll keep this (and the other kids book audiobooks)for easy listening after a long shift and the more difficult ones for whenI’m on days off to see if that helps a bit.

The most important thing in my eyes is consistency. It may have been a shorter day, but you still took the time to keep up the momentum. That’s a great thing.
In the same vein I’m feeling unwell today and don’t feel line keeping up with a plot, so I’ve mostly just listened to an easy poscast while I’ve gone about my day. Nothing wrong with that every now and then.

In addition to my usual JP listening yesterday, I was feeling motivated and did some extra Español and 中文 listening! I don’t have any specific goals for these; they’re more on a “if I can do any of them two days in a row I’ll have to go out and celebrate” kind of deal at the moment, but it’s nice to get the extra practice in.
Also pretty interesting how my brain didn’t really complain about jumping around between those two, Japanese, and English. I was wondering if there would be more of a “switching over period”, but I think the roughest patch I noticed was going straight from Mandarin listening to practicing my JP name flashcards. I was also getting kind of tired at that point, so that probably contributed. It would be nice to pick a different language to focus on audio-wise next year, though that kind of depends where my Japanese is sitting at the end of this year and whether I’ve driven myself crazy from the current setup.

Recently, I’ve been trying to watch a video by my favorite French for learners YouTuber everyday (but it’s been more like every other day ) and yeah, my brain’s just like “oh we’re doing French now? Sure that’s fine” 
I was actually really surprised since I dumped French about a year ago and haven’t had any exposure besides packaging/signage and dual language announcements

Every time I go to look something up in Hebrew now, I start typing it in furigana, and get disoriented for a sec, when I realize that’s not gonna work

Old language. I basically stopped it upon learning Japanese, though still have some regular exposure to it (less than I used to). When I’m fluent enough in Japanese, I’ll pick it up again. Feel free to PM if you want more details

Still feeling under the weather. Better, today. But not really up to focusing hard enough to follow much of a plot.
1 more episode of Akebi, 2 more episodes of 安達としまむら, then a bunch of watching a VTuber play Breath of the Wild.
Hoping that because I’m on the mend Ill have more of an attention span tonight or tomorrow. But for today and yesterday, this is less about learning and more about keeping my mind in Japanese mode as much as possible.
I desperately want to surprise my friends in Japan with my improvement when I move back in July (Provided I’m not still riddled with mysterious health problems.) so even on days where I am unwell, I still want to do as much passive listening as possible.

I did a lot of passive listening while ill with Covid last year (was one of the listening challenge months too) and I found it did still help even when I wasn’t majorly focusing on it.

The last couple of days I watched a lot of Korean youtube content with English subtitles (so not counted here), and I did notice an improvement in my comprehension, both for scripted and non-scripted content.
As for actual listening practice, I listened to a podcast episode yesterday as well as today, both under 20 minutes. I’m hoping to get back to longer sessions on Monday.

Felt up to somewhat concentrating today, so I started イジらないで、長瀞さん S1 and watched 5 episodes. Its a show I’ve seen before with JP subs, this time completely sub-less. I will forever be sad it didn’t get a Season 3, the last, unadapted third of the manga is peak high scool romcom.
Because I do so many hours of Japanese every day, I like to have 3 shows on the go at any given time. When I burn out from one, even if thats half an episode, I switch to another. Akebi and Adachi are almost done, so I will probably pick up 2 new shows tomorrow. As I’m finally mostly better, at least one of then will be something I’ve never seen.
