I’m starting a bit later. Forgot to order the book last week
But I saw that we will get nice covers, so looking forward to ot ![]()
Week 2 thread is up:
Week 3 thread is up!
We’re reading half of chapter 3 this week.
…maybe I should combine Week 3 and Week 4 in one thread to have a clear “chapter 3 is here” instread.
Up to you!
It really depends on how much activity a thread gets. If there’s a lot it can be annoying to go through and read just the part of the chapter that you’re on when they’re combined, but if there’s only a smattering of comments anyway, having the whole chapter together is easier to read it all at once.
Book 2 is out on audible ![]()
Yay! I was wondering if they were gonna do the whole series or if it was going to end up a one book orphan.. sounds hopeful we’ll get more if it’s come out so soon after the first one.
Yes, I was worrying about the same because usually you get the series set up showing when the other volumes are planned for release. But looking at how many reviews the first volume got, I think it’s on the popular side. ![]()
Continuing to Week 4 in the same thead as Week 3 to make it easier for everyone that’s reading it by chapter:
Week 5 is up!
We’re back to reading full chapters - chapter 4 this week.
Week 6 is up!
It’s the last chapter this week already, reading until the end of the book.
And a couple of polls for the future, before we lose the momentum.
- Yes
- No
(Informal means we wouldn’t have a specific set schedule as we had here; you are welcome to reach a chapter bi-weekly or to read the whole volume in one weekend, whichever works for you)
- One thread for the whole series
- Separate threads for each volume
I voted yes I am bad at participating in BCs but I really enjoy reading commentary of other ppl. ![]()
and I have no preference for threads. I wish discourse would allow subthreads, though…
Everyone agrees on the format, yay!
I’ll set vol 2 thread up on Monday, to mark the official end of the vol 1 club.
Now, I think @eefara was at vol 3 and in general as it’s informal, so it probably makes sense to set up all the threads at once?
Then folks can jump into whichever thread is relevant, instead of following any arbitrary update schedule from me ![]()
Sounds good to me!
I made some cosmetic changes to the threads (including topic renames to chapters instead of weeks), mostly to avoid confusion with the increased threads number.
Our informal book club threads are up now!
Feel free to jump into whichever you’re at right now and leave those tasty blurred/hidden comments that we’ll crave to read when we get there.
