Lists discussion

Hmmmm, I see. It should probably suggest the title of other volumes, then, since it was unclear enough I thought you couldn’t add them at all.

Sometimes I just want to watch the world burn

(leaving this right here… seeing my way out 秘密ー花ざかりの君たちへ After Schoolー[1話売り] story01 (Trifle by 花とゆめ) | L24??)

It looks like lists don’t reflect the most recent information on book pages. Like this series had some extra garbage removed from the title after it was added, but the un-corrected title is what shows up when the series is added to a list:

The main list page also seems to not reflect the most recent cover images; all of the placeholder covers for the books in this list have since been replaced with real covers, but 3/5 of the covers in the preview image are still placeholders:

Yep. He hooks up with someone in a one shot by the mangaka. :joy:

Darn, I want to read that. :face_holding_back_tears:

Read it. Hanakimi is very nostalgic. Sad that the author died so young.

Decided to create a fun list simply to have a fun time with it.
Anyone else wants to join in on the cats list? A.k.a looking for collaborators lol (should we have a collaborator募集 function or thread :joy:)

Ooh, been a while since I’ve seen a fun new list! Can’t believe you don’t have チーズスイートホーム | L14 on it!

I don’t like that show that much so I didn’t add, I’ll add it for you though :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::joy::heart:

A couple of cat themed books I enjoyed:

江ノ島は猫の島である | L31 – a young man moves to Enoshima, realises he can understand what cats are saying, and ends up solving small cat problems and mysteries. Fun, chill, low-stakes.

吾輩は猫である | L48 – Don’t underestimate the difficulty just because it’s a funny book narrated by a cat: the cat never uses a simple word when an obscure one is available, and loves complicated sentences. Plus the book is stuffed with references to Japanese, Chinese and Western literature and history, so you really need an edition with explanatory endnotes. But if you’re interested in the period when Soseki was writing and your Japanese is up to an L48 book then I think it’s worth the effort.

I forgot about this book!
I have it in my native and completely forgot about it, should I read it in my native or not is the question now lol
(Since I would definitely want to try it in japanese)

吾輩は猫である | L48 vs 吾輩は猫である | L22?? demonstrates the awkwardness of Natively not handling multiple editions of a work, incidentally – the gap between L48 and L22?? is particularly silly

The latter seems like it’s a children’s book version to the story, maybe because of that?
If it’s a children story I would guess it’s easier language

Edit; changed it to the novel version in the list as well :+1:

There’s also スーと鯛ちゃん | L13 by the same author

Oh and I guess 魔女の宅急便 1 | L25 also fits…
