They probably still need to approve them, I think Librarians were given access to TV moderation short ago, so I think it’s a matter of time until they catch-up with approvals over there too.
I’m not sure if they have a way to override the dates that come from TMDB sync as of yet. Would be a question for @brandon
I’ve marked all the items (TV, Movie, Books, Series items) that were inactive and out of search to be active. I will try to go through and find all the paths generating these inactive things…
In other news, I hear you loud and clear about TV & Movie issues. We’re iterating on TV & Movie this week with the librarians, so expect to see a lot of things cleaned up
The librarians have done a tremendous job on books (even though it’s not quite done yet), we now need to do the same to TV & Movie~~
Is there a way to mark a series as “don’t try to use the book one blurb as a series blurb”? This series is a set of non fiction books on unrelated subjects by different authors, so the blurb for book one is entirely irrelevant to any of the other books. (It’s tempting to propose that it shouldn’t be a series at all for Natively’s purposes.)
Also the series seems to be using the cover image of book six as its cover image for some reason.
I guess, the reason is that the first book of the series that was included into LN was book #6. I e.g. recently added a series of 64 books via volume #3, and the series page now shows the title image of that volume #3.
I’ve gone ahead and updated the series cover image just for consistency’s sake, but I agree that this doesn’t seem to really fit the “series” criteria we’ve been using on Natively so far…
Can I just say, I absolutely love how far Natively has come since it started. This is such an awesome place, with such a bustling community of language learners.
I am loving all of the cool lists that have popped up since the feature was added! Legends, all of you!
Just a question that came to mind because I added a BookWalker link to a book that was missing it recently.
Are user-added where-to-find links for Natively’s default book providers functionally the same as the ones that are auto-generated when adding a new book? Like, if I manually add an Amazon link to a book, will Natively’s affiliate code still be applied? Or if I manually add a BookWalker link and that book goes on a 0¥ sale, will it properly show up in the “Free” filter with the rest of the books that were linked to BookWalker automatically?
If you check the rendered url (right-click/long tap and copy link or something) you can compare it to one with a pre-existing one. (If you link the page you added it to, I can check if u want)
Yes we smartly apply affiliate codes if you add to specific providers we have an affiliate program with, like amazon.
It is free money after all
We don’t have an affiliate program with BookWalker… it’s not a great program unfortunately (you only get personal credits which you have to spend on bookwalker). Maybe one day we’ll get it working if it makes sense to.. right now it’s too much overhead for too little benefit i think.
This reminds me, is there an affiliate program with CDJapan? In other words, should I be using the links we have here more instead of searching for the books in their site itself
Oh, that’s good to know! Is there a list of the affiliate programs somewhere? Since I’ve only been aware of there being a partnership with Amazon, even though I’ve been using Natively for several years. I’m sure there are many of us who are not using the links simply because we are not aware of the partnerships, so it might be a good idea to have a list somewhere where it is easy to find it.
I don’t think there is. So good catch! If you don’t mind, could you make a Product Request in that subforum so the dev team sees it and can hopefully eventually consider it?
Yes, that page I have seen, but there’s no indication whether there is an affiliation with the providers, so I just assumed there isn’t. It’s slightly more inconvenient to use the Natively links than it is to just navigate the website, which is why I haven’t really used the links. But now that I know that it really can benefit Natively, it is worth that slight inconvenience.
@brandon seeing a lot of internal server errors today when I try to add books as Owned and add tags to those books. Looks like it’s taking a while for new Owned books to show up on the feed as well.
