Discussion ground rules

  • Any spoilers, for the current chapters must be behind spoilers or detail curtains. When we get further in you don’t need to hide details that were revealed in previous chapters.
  • Always mention where you are in the book when discussing, ideally by chapter so people reading different versions have a clear point of reference.
  • Feel free to read ahead if it’s exciting! But please refrain from spoiling ahead of the appropriate week :slight_smile:
  • If you have a question about grammar, vocab, cultural things, etc - ask! That can be part of the discussion too and I’m sure some folks would be happy to help.
  • Even if you don’t read the chapter(s) in time, you are still encouraged to post in the thread for that reading once you have finished it. I advise not reading ahead in the threads as you may see spoilers.

This is probably the one on p. 33 in the 文庫本. The preceding phrase is 旅立たせた, does that check? Week one ended on p. 20, btw. Should we maybe add these to the weekly ops?

I would appreciate if we can add the pages as well - in my edition, p 20 is 5%, so it also makes it slightly more confusing to make sure I have the right end point

Yes that’s exactly it, sorry for the confusion.

I would love to add in the physical pages! I unfortunately don’t own a copy… which actually has been kinda disorienting for me. Any chance you’d be willing to go through the Home thread and let me know what the corresponding pages are? (Unless you’d rather do it week by week?)

About Kenji so far

I kind of want to like him for being a trusting guy who’s willing to go the extra mile for a girl he seems to be into, but mostly I’m stressed that he’s just going to go on a trip and agree to do whatever without getting any actual, concrete details aside from the birthday party. And he filled in the blanks on that himself… It makes me wonder, was I like this as a teenager? Would I have done something like this for someone I had a crush on? The verdict: that’s not a road I want to go down at this point, haha.

I do think it is normal teenager behaviour, though I do feel bad for him that Natsuki is keeping the full story from him until they get there… I also felt for him when they had the moment of silence in the train - talk about teenager awkwardness!
