I have the physical book, but shouldn’t we put a pacing speed first or how do you usually do it? (First time)

Done. Radio came to mind first for some reason.

Normally I look at how the book itself is broken up; sometimes it’s broken up nicely and people don’t mind reading a bit faster/slower to meet the natural breakpoints, and sometimes the page counts are weird and we have to go a bit more in-depth with the planning.

There’s no reason why we couldn’t start with a pacing poll first, but I’d like to see what “natural” paces are there already.

People who might read in Korean, but not Japanese probably won’t see this though - so maybe move it anyway? Or post in the Korean board, so people over there know about it

(I’m not sure if there’s many Korean-only users on here, but still a possibility now and later)

Thank you! Looks like it splits fairly nicely into a 30 page/week schedule, actually. I’ll see if we can calculate a 15 pg/week and 20 pg/week for comparison purposes, too.

Ah, that’s a good thought. :thinking: I suppose the best place would be to post in the Korean What are you reading today? thread? Maybe?

15 pg/week: Approximately 20 weeks total. Most of the chapters would be split in half.
20 pg/week: This one will be kind of weird. We would be reading over about 16-17 weeks.
25 pg/week: This would end up at somewhere like 13-14 weeks at a rough guesstimate.
30 pg/week: Fits nicely with how the book is laid out. About 10 weeks at minimum, depending on how heavy we want the later weeks to be in terms of pages.

One chapter per week would also be good I think, it makes start slowly until you adapt to the book, then you get into the 33ish page.

The only real nasty one will be chapter 10 which could probably be split in two.

I agree with this. That week scares me the most. Even if I was more comfortable with the book at that point I still don’t think I could do 40 pages.

Maybe we could combine 10 until end and make it a 2 week special (55 pages for 2 weeks, or 50 if you diregard the afterword). People can finish the book at a faster or more leisurely pace. :thinking:

Why not just split it at that point? 25 pgs each week (or 27 with あとがき)

Because I don’t like splitting chapters and reducing pages per week at the end feels counterintuitive to me. :woman_shrugging:

But it was just a suggestion. If the pacing of the BC doesn’t work for me, I’ll just switch to “my pace”. :wink:

Same, I would merge the Prologue and Chapter 1 though. That way the first two weeks are a nice and easy 16 pages. 3 might be too low.
