Based on interest around the book, we are running an informal, read at your own pace book club. Feel free to join in if you are reading, planning to read, or have read the novel (I guess you are also welcome to come along if you never plan to read the book, but I’m not sure how much you would get out of the club ).
There are two three physical versions, a hard cover single book and the two set paperback, and a full furigana set from Popular Kimi Novels. I have the hardback and have based any page/chapters off of that, so let me know if it doesn’t line up with your version so I can add that to the club information.

Ok, I have threads up for the first part of the book (五月-八月). I didn’t want to flood the forum with everything at once, but let me know if you’re farther along and I can make up new threads now or as needed.

I have never participated in a bookclub before.
I intend to read this book in 6-8 months, maybe a bit longer (due to a backlog of books gradually increasing in difficulty)
Can I just join whenever?
Sure! There might not be as much activity as there is now due to people maybe finishing it earlier. But many people still check for comments on the older threads and would be able to answer questions/discuss the contents of the book if you have questions.
if anyone has trouble with the characters they have an illustrated character list in the furigana versions preview. Might also be useful to add this near the character list in this thread.
I finished it a few days ago I didn’t really have much to say in the early portion of the book. As for my overall opinions the short of it is my complaints mentioned in the last thread stand and only strengthened in the end I think. Once the final thread is up I’ll post a more detailed comment there I guess for the sake of discussion.
I’m still parked at chapter 3, I think, but I’m planning to get back to a chapter or so a day pace that I started with before we moved. So hopefully I’ll even get to use the threads soon
How could I have missed this I was struggling so much in August-October when I was reading this book, but I felt too exhausted to keep up with SNS so I didn’t check the forum that time.
