šŸŽ® Wiki for Video Games + Visual Novels with Natively Levels

as of now games aren’t implemented in natively but people over at šŸŽ® Video Game + Visual Novel Natively Levels are listing game levels so I want to create a proper wiki with the table and everything

edit notes
  • let the table organize by lvl and it separated the numbers and the numbers with question mark, not sure if it’s okay or not since everything is relative with a system like the natively level grading
  • either need to check all else for visual novels one by one or ask people to move it if they notice it in the wrong place
  • it’s kinda bothering me so I will change the Japanese names into either English or Romaji, that way series from the same games will be aligned one after the other if they’re on the same lvl/not assigned

@eefara Hi efara! sorry to bug you but could you turn this post into a wiki? (it’s just that I remembered it was you that did it with the webcomics wiki I made so decided to tag you here too…)

Wow, thanks for putting so much work into organizing all the posts!

I have some suggestions (that I’m willing to help with once this is a Wiki):

  • Separate column for level.
  • Sort by level instead of name.
  • Extrapolate level from posts like šŸŽ® Video Game + Visual Novel Natively Levels - #18 by AAABatts instead of leaving level empty.
  • Remove everything without a level suggestion. (Maybe put it in a separate table or at the end of this one if it has a good write-up in the original post.)
  • Remove all empty links.
  • Maybe switch ā€œlink to postā€ (put it on the game name) and ā€œlink to gameā€ (make it a separate column)? In this context here I’d be more interested in learning more about the experience playing the game in Japanese, i.e. our ā€œNatively pageā€, than getting e.g. the Steam page.

This is all from the context of a learner who wants to find games appropriate to their level. Sorting by name only seems useful if you try to find a specific game, and for that the browser has seach functionality.

Also, I’m a bit curious where Cultist Simulator at L21 came from (there’s no post?). Not only is the game positively full of text, but also its prose is written to be hard to understand and to evoke a mysterious esoteric atmosphere.

Examples in English:

Despair pads close at my heels. The world is leached of light.

The Spider’s Door is always THIRSTY. Always. The blood I have given leaks in threads and spills through the skin of the world, and the Door drinks it and a moment’s satisfaction swells its opening until I can pass.

A Hint was once a living mortal, and then a dead one, and now it’s something else. Their summoning requires Lantern, for the light which drew them to the Mansus, and Edge, for the striving they’ve endured in mirrors.

I’ll do one better, since doing a separate column for level is a great idea might as well sort by both level AND name :dizzy:

I did actually! things that were ā€œaround the middle of N2ā€ or stuff like that I put an approx with ā€œ?ā€ afterwards, anything that I need to extrapolate further I put it empty since I wasn’t sure what to do with it?
some empty ones maybe also be that I didn’t notice or forgot to add, newer ones I didn’t fill in everything yet (as you’ve seen with the empty links, they’ll be filled, I just didn’t have time yet to sit down on it again, will probably fill in more in an hour

edit: might not be today)

good point! I’ll do that

my fault, it came from me, I was planning to put it in my post and forgot, I honestly don’t remember why I put it at L21, I’ll take a look at the grading system again and see if maybe I meant 31?
cause I do remember some difficult rare vocab there

What do you mean? Is there a sort button?

Ah, gotcha. I got that post from a game that didn’t have a level yet (AIļ¼šć‚½ćƒ ćƒ‹ć‚¦ćƒ  ćƒ•ć‚”ć‚¤ćƒ« ), so I just assumed that you left them all empty.

When you edit a table in the table mode rather than by text you can click twice on the column name and it sorts by that column!
Aside from that I’ll just sort by names whatever else

@shablul this is amazing! :heart_eyes:
Would you mind making a column or some other indication to show whether or not it’s a game or a VN?

I was planning on putting ā€œVisual Novelā€ in additional tags

edit: either that or maybe it’s worth making them in a separate table?

Whatever is the least amount of work/easiest to maintain. :slightly_smiling_face:

I can’t, unfortunately. :frowning: I can turn my posts into wikis, but not others’. :frowning: Perhaps @Megumin or @brandon can?

oh I misremembered then, I’m so sorry :disappointed_relieved:

I like the platform icons, very intuitive.

I might have been able to do it if it was in the product requests category but not here.

So we have to wait for @brandon

Same here! You’ve done a great job with the table, @shablul!

hopefully it’ll get better though lmao

I was about to play around with that but then I remembered I can’t do that since some of the entries have more than one post (for example yakuza 0 or the ćƒć‚±ćƒ¢ćƒ³äøę€č°ć®ćƒ€ćƒ³ć‚øćƒ§ćƒ³ ę•‘åŠ©éšŠDX entries)

How dare those meddling posters ruin my plan

Alright, then I guess it should stay as is.

unofficially finished, need to decide what to do about checking the video game list for other visual novels I didn’t recognize/notice/know about - this part will be just left as is until the post is a wiki since it’ll be more practical to make the decision then

also deciding on a standard for reporting these might help but not exactly required lol

Made this a wiki! @shablul
