I’m also real busy as well. Ah well, the beauty of it is is that if we need to delay, we can delay no problem. I’d rather have more participants at a later date than a few people who’re extremely busy on time.
The thing is that the ones I have thrown myself into are going to take a long time anyway, so I don’t think it will make much difference, at least to me.
Higurashi is most likely going to take 16 weeks, while NHK if it’s fast-ish is going to be probably around 12 weeks.
Me with every book club I join (my own included )… Tho this one will especially be a challenge tho… definitely grateful NHK has an audiobook!! (nm NHK doesn’t)
Btw to my surprise it looks like the start of this volume corresponds to episode 13 in the anime (I wasn’t expecting it to be that far along!!). Not sure where that would be in terms of manga - but figured it would be helpful for ppl who haven’t read vol 1
Well, I’m ready! I think! The biggest unknown in my schedule right now is the Spanish bookclub since I’ve no clue how long that’ll take me each week, but I think it’ll be fine. There’s still a couple weeks for me to get into a groove with that one as well.

Since “Scheduled” was the winner of the pacing poll (followed by not minding either way), scheduled it shall be! Here are some approximate week counts to get us started:
~20 pg/week: approx. 25 weeks (normally I’d have a 15 pg/week option, but it shakes out to about the same number of weeks as 20 pg/week anyway) ~25 pg/week: approx. 15 weeks ~30 pg/week: approx. 11 weeks (going over that 30 pages by up to ~5 pages when necessary) 1 ch/week: 22 weeks
Just a reminder to everyone that we’ll be starting next week. We’ll also be reading one chapter/week according to the pacing poll; the prologue will be its own separate week unless the majority would like to merge it with chapter 1.
